White Oak is a durable, heavy domestic hardwood known for its natural resistance to water and decay. It is light-to-dark brown with an olive or grayish cast, featuring light-colored sapwood. The grain is mostly straight with a coarse, uneven texture. It is used in flooring, fine furniture and cabinetry, boat building and outdoor decks, and wine and whiskey barrels. A texturing tool created the lines and dots in the center portion. The pen hardware is a high-quality Norris twist style in a gold and gunmetal finish. Included is a Parker-style ink cartridge, which is available at all office supply stores.
