This pen is made from a Stabilized Spalted Curly Maple blank.  Let’s dissect that.  Maple is a type of wood, while curly maple is a description of the grain pattern in maple wood.  Curly maple is a type of figured maple, which means it has a unique grain pattern that gives it a decorative appeal.
