The Purple Heart is a military decoration awarded to U.S. service members who have been wounded or killed while serving in the line of duty. It is a solemn distinction that recognizes the great sacrifice made by the service member, or the ultimate sacrifice of death. The Purple Heart is awarded in the name of the President and is considered the oldest and most recognizable award in the U.S. military.
This pen has been inlayed with a Purple Heart Medal and involves 14 different pieces of basswood dyed purple, yellow, green and left natural.It was handmade and assembled with a gold and chrome finish. This pen uses Parker refills, available where office supplies are sold.
