The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American single-engine, single-seat, all metal fighter-bomber that first flew in 1938.  The Warhawk was used by most Allied powers during World War II and remained in frontline service until the end of the war.  This P-40 Warhawk was present at Wheeler Field, Hawaii when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.  It escaped being fatally damaged in the attack due to its having been under repair.  On January 24th, while on a routine flight, this aircraft failed to recover from a spin and crashed in the mountains.  Between 1985 and 1989, its remains were recovered, and parts formed the basis of the restored and fly aircraft in the collection of the American Heritage Museum.  Within this pen is a piece of the aluminum skin from the original upper fuselage and retains most of its olive drab camouflage paint. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

This twist ink pen is finished in a chrome with gun metal kit and uses a Schmidt style refill; replacements are available where office supplies are sold.

An optional wooden display stand is available for $20. Optional rifle pen case available for $10. Optional gift box available for $5.

As with all Specialty Turned Designs products, this pen carries a limited-lifetime warranty.
