The original structure of the Independence Hall remained intact until 1897, when renovations became necessary. At that time some of the original oak and cedar beams were replaced. The removed beams were stored for preservation by several private collectors. To celebrate the Bicentennial in 1976, Burnes of Boston offered a limited number of chips cut from the original cedar beams of Independence Hall. Each chip was numbered, and this pen contains a small piece of said wood. This pen comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, a commemorative coin and a piece of wood.
When it comes to writing comfort, few pens can compete with the rollerball pen. This Jr. Independence Rollerball Pen offers an antique brass retro style. The iconic 1776 in a ring of stars on the cap and "We the People" center band capture the essence of American patriotism. This beauty is well-balanced, comfortable to hold, and includes a postable cap.
